# Set up WhatsApp and email

> Choose how your event sends WhatsApp messages and emails, and set who they come from.

Before you send any invites, reminders or confirmations, decide how they go out. Under **Communications → Integrations** you set up two channels — WhatsApp and email — and choose whether to use regplus's built-in service or connect your own.

## WhatsApp

Send confirmations, reminders and updates to your guests over WhatsApp.

* **Default WhatsApp integration** — turn this on to use regplus's pre-approved WhatsApp templates. There is nothing to set up; messages go out from the platform's own number.
* **Sync platform templates** — once the default integration is on, click **Sync Template** to pull in the ready-made message templates so they are available for your event.
* **Your WhatsApp providers** — if you'd rather send from your own WhatsApp Business number, click **Add Provider** and connect your provider. Until you add one, this stays empty and your event uses the default integration.

## Email

Send from regplus's email server or your own, and control the name and address your guests see.

* **Use platform email server** — keep this on for the quickest start. Your emails go out through regplus's server with no setup. Turn it off only if you want to send through your own email service.
* **Sender identity** — set the **Sender Name** so guests can tell at a glance who the email is from. This is the name that shows up in their inbox.

> [!TIP]
>
> For most events, leaving both channels on the default platform settings is enough to get started. Connect your own provider only when you need emails or WhatsApp messages to come from your own number or domain.
