In short: The journey your guests experience is the sum of your backend settings. This guide maps each setting to what it changes for the guest, then gives a few ready-made journeys you can copy. For the guest’s-eye view of the flow, see The guest booking journey.

Settings that shape the journey

Build the journey step by step

1

Decide ticket or RSVP

For a simple yes/no headcount, use RSVP. For anything with tiers, capacity or payment, use ticket types.
2

Set your tiers and prices

Add one tier or several, each free or paid. This decides whether guests see a payment step.
3

Ask only what you need

Keep the registration form short — every extra field is one more thing each guest fills in.
4

Choose instant or approved

Turn on approval if you want to vet guests before confirming; leave it off for instant booking.
5

Decide who can see it

Public on your event page, or invite-only via a link or code.
6

Finish the confirmation

Set the email and WhatsApp messages and the badge your guests receive.

Common journeys to copy

Use RSVP mode, keep the form to name, email and phone, and leave approval off. Guests reply in a couple of taps and get a confirmation — no payment, no tickets. See RSVP events.
Make the tier private and share its invite link or code only with the people you want. It stays off the public page. See Invite-only events.
Turn on approval required so bookings arrive as pending. Review each one and approve or decline; guests are confirmed only once you approve. See Approvals & limits.
Turn on slots or seating so guests pick a time or a seat while booking — good for tours, workshops or seated venues. See Slots & seating.
Before you share your link, open your own event page and book a test ticket yourself — it’s the fastest way to see the exact journey your guests will get.
